In the infamous West Bengal teacher recruitment corruption case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is now set to question those who were illegally hired and dismissed on court orders.
Sources of the central agency informed about it on Saturday. It has been reported that the jobs of many Group C appointees have been canceled on the orders of the Calcutta High Court. Of these 10 persons were identified and sent a notice for questioning.
The notice was sent late on Friday and asked to appear on Monday. From that day on, there will be continuous questioning of people who got jobs illegally. They include people from all districts. They will be questioned to find out who they contacted to get the job illegally or whether they were contacted directly. How many rupees had to be paid, who had to be accommodated, what was the procedure.
The central agency will get information by asking about all these aspects. This will reveal the entire corrupt gang and its working methods.
Notably, on the order of Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijeet Ganguly, more than two thousand Group C employees were dismissed from their jobs. The answer book of all these were tampered with and their marks were increased. Some of these people got zero on some number which was raised from 54 to 56 to fit comfortably in the merit list.
